Volunteers are essential to our life-saving mission. Do you have crazy skills? Do you love animals and have a passion for helping others? We always welcome dog walkers and cat cuddlers, new foster families and neonatal kitten foster families!

Our volunteers are creative, fun people with a diverse skill set. We welcome both photographers and videographers to help take cool photos of our pets. Do you want to help with events? Or do you thrive working with social media? Want to be hands on and help transport? Our volunteers take on many different roles.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call the shelter at 410-228-3090 and schedule your first visit or stop by during our hours of operation. You will complete an application and your first visit. Once you have been reviewed we will schedule your Volunteer Orientation where you will learn about Baywater, meet the staff and learn the ropes! Our volunteer team is amazing! Together, we are making a difference in the lives of dogs and cats in Dorchester County and beyond!

Requirements
- Contact Baywater to schedule your first visit.
- Complete a general volunteer orientation session & facility tour.
- Be able to work independently and meet the volunteer requirements.
- Attend additional training sessions as required by Baywater Animal Rescue.
- Volunteer at least monthly.
- Treat all animals with kindness and concern for their welfare.
- Represent yourself and Baywater Animal Rescue in a professional manner and treat clients, staff, and other volunteers with respect.
