What is Baywater's SLEP?
SLEP stands for Shelter Life Enrichment Program and it’s making our animals happier and more adoptable than ever. Dogs and cats, like all of us, need to use their brains or they become bored and unhappy. At Baywater, we’ve been building our corps of volunteers, who challenge our animals to keep them thinking, solving puzzles and learning new things. And we’re seeing remarkable results. This year, our adoption rate has increased 47% over last year and there’s no end in sight.
Sounds like fun, doesn't it? Volunteer to help with our SLEP and you’ll have the opportunity to spend some very enjoyable time with animals that want to bond to humans and just make friends. Don’t worry, we will train you so that you and the animals get the most out of your experience.
