Plan a legacy of kindness and compassion

Making a gift to Baywater Animal Rescue through your will or revocable living trust is a simple and flexible way to save the lives of pets for years to come.  Have you already named Baywater Animal Rescue in your will or trust? Please let us know your plans.  We would like to thank you for joining us in our work to save animals in Dorchester County through adoption, medical care, fostering, and providing pet food through our Pet Pantry.

There are several ways you can make a gift through your will or trust:

Specific gift: You describe exactly what kind of gift you want to leave.  If you want to leave a specific dollar amount from a specific source or a particular item (such as a piece of property or a collector's item), this is the type of bequest you would use.

Residuary gift: This type of bequest is honored after all other bequests have been made, and all debts, expenses and taxes have been paid.

Contingent gift: This type of bequest is fulfilled if certain conditions are met. For example, if your primary beneficiary does not survive you, you can indicate your next choice through a contingent bequest.

Tax ID: 52-0901622

Bequest Language:
"I give to Baywater Animal Rescue, a 501c3 organization located at 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613, (the sum of $____) (all or ___percent of my residual estate) to be used for its general purposes."

Q's & A's
How do I make a bequest?

A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make.   With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your or trust specifying a gift to be made to family, friends or The Baywater Animal Rescue as part of your estate plan.

What are my options?
A bequest can be made in several ways:
  1. You can gift a specific dollar amount or asset
  2. You can gift a percentage of your estate
  3. You can gift from the balance or residue of your estate
  4. You can make a beneficiary designation of certain assets

How do I get started?
