“Breed-based policies are based on myths and misinformation, rather than science or credible data. Their impact on dogs, families and animal shelters, however, is heartbreakingly real.”- Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)
Chico is just one of the many animals receiving care in our shelter. Chico was a broken dog upon arrival. He didn't want to raise his head and he shuffled when he walked. But, thanks to our staff and volunteers, he gains confidence daily.
There are approximately 3.6 million pit bulls in the United States. Of those 3.6 million, an estimated 1.2 million will end up in a shelter. |
Pit bulls are known as aggressive mostly because of the dog fighters who made this breed look bad. However, studies show that they are no more aggressive than many other dog breeds people have at home. |
Often, our shelter is full with wonderful pets like Chico just waiting for their forever homes. To help support the care for these animals, we are dedicating donations through Giving Tuesday, a national day of charity on December 3rd, to the underdogs like Chico who know their forever home is out there. Your generous donation will help shorten their stay at the shelter and will help find them loving homes.
Click here to donate. Thank you!!! THANKS TO THE LOVING CARE at the shelter, and donations to cover the cost of his ongoing care, Chico will receive the new beginning he needs as a healthier and happier dog. A generous donor is challenging our supporters with a special dollar-for-dollar Match through December 3rd. Your $10 gift will become $20…. $25 will become $50 and so on. Please help us provide the love and support that Chico needs, today and every day. |
